I am writing to compliment the Driving Instructors who have made my first attempt in taking my Driving licence a success! These instructors deserved to be recognized for their efforts and patience. Having to attend to trainees everyday with different abilities and requirements can be very challenging. I had quite a number of different instructors assigned during the initial stages of the driving course and as time passed by I see that 1 or 2 were not as competent as they should be. I was disappointed. Nevertheless I realized there were some who were otherwise. They are dedicated and sincere in teaching and imparting their knowledge. These are the type of instructors SSDC should retain and recognize them for their good performance. Needless to say I’ve indeed succeeded in attaining my driving licence through my own efforts and support of loved ones but still, some bit of my success goes to them. 1) MR ROSLAN HAMID - 5481 (Thank you for your patience, consistency, teaching with a sense of humor and good specifications and directions on road and circuit. Helps me build up my confidence too):-) 2) MR S VALAIN - 5899 (Thank you for your patience and for being strict means you mean business. That help me quite a bit) :-) 3) MR FREDDIE - 5577 (Thank you for your patience and for being MR Cool..."its ok, don’t panic. take your time". Reassurance helps..) :-) | ||||

On 9th Nov 2011, at 7.25am, warming up for my TP Test and I did my Class3 Test at 8.25am. A short 25 minutes of excitement and finally I got my driving licence after 5 months amazing training. It all started from your SSDC Ang Mo Kio Branch Office. I would like to commend Ms Joyce Tham for her outstanding service and helpfulness. She was the one who sold me both the class 2B & class 3 packages. And not forgetting the rest of the instructors whom I met during my lessons. Especially to Mr. Kevin Nair valuable training tips on the circuit & driving skills. SSDC is to be commended for employing such outstanding professionals. I was amazed when I first arrived at your Multi Stories Circuit. To me, SSDC simply means.................. S…. Sincere from the beginning to the end. S…. Serious about their teaching methods. D… Dedicated team of staff & instructors. C …Committed driving school you must learn from. Rest assured you will be my first choice and highly recommend driving school for all my friends. Thanks a million. |

I passed my Class 3 Traffic Police Test on 17th November 2011 on my first try, so naturally I was elated. This couldn't have happened if not for 2 fine driving instructors from the Singapore Safety Driving Centre (SSDC), Mr. Lam Chun Keong (5485) & Mr. Shukor Bin Muhoet (5663). Both are very patient, experienced instructors who are more than capable of imparting their safe-driving knowledge & skills to trainees effectively & efficiently. Mr. Lam Chun Keong (5485) is a well-mannered, seasoned teacher who only intervened at the very last minute, unlike certain instructors who tend to correct a student even before he has officially made a mistake. For example, he only steps on his brake when I am very close to the kerb. This not only shows his precision & alertness during lessons; it also forced me, as a trainee, to acknowledge my error as I was so close to touching the kerb that I just couldn't come up with excuses l! ike "I would have avoided it in time anyway" - a classic self-justifying excuse trainees use frequently. Such pedagogical technique is important not only for learning cognitive skills such as driving, but also for learning more theoretical or "intellectual" concepts. This is what makes him a very skillful teacher. Mr. Shukor Bin Muhoet (5663) is an easy-going, approachable teacher with whom I feel completely at ease. This is very important to me as I get nervous very easily, especially during driving. I remember how he sometimes talked about interesting "everyday" topics ranging from soccer to his passion for deep-sea fishing during lessons. My lessons with him were the most interesting & for some reason, are also the ones in which I make the least mistakes! Perhaps it's because I wasn't tense while I was driving! He is a friend. My journey at SSDC has come to an end, & I wish all students, current & futur! e, all the best in their endeavour towards attaining their license! More significantly, I would like to thank Mr. Lam & Mr. Shukor & I wish them all the best! |
