Course: Motorcycle Class 2B

Class 2B (HONDA CG125)

Classification of Class 2B Motor Vehicles

  • Motorcycles not exceeding 200cc
  • The Class 2B riding course is valid for 1 year from the date of enrolment.
  • All student (70 years of age and below) will be insured with a personal accident insurance for a period of one year (non - renewable)

Enrolment Pre-requisite

  • 18 years old and above (based on date of birth)
  • Enrol in person or through the internet and must pass an eyesight and colour blindness test
  • Physically and mentally fit
  • Must not accumulate more than 12 demerit points under the Driver Improvement Points System (DIPS)
  • Must not have any class(es) of Qualified Driving Licence / Provisional Driving Licence under revocation, disqualification or suspension

  • A valid employment pass, work permit, student pass, dependant's pass and PR (foreigner only)

Important Note

  • If you have any serious traffic offences pending against you, you are advised not to apply for a licence. This is because if you are eventually disqualified by court from holding or obtaining a driving licence, the disqualification could be for all classes of driving licence including any newly acquired licence.
  • If you have been awarded more than 12 demerit points, or have cases pending against you which will make you liable to be awarded a total of more than 12 demerit points, you will not be allowed to take a theory / practical driving test.
  • New driver who has two cases of not displaying distinguishing mark (triangular sign) against them, whether the cases are concluded or otherwise, will not be allowed to take a theory / practical driving test.

Theory Lesson

  • There is a total of 7 theoretical lessons consisting of 4 basic and 3 defensive theory lessons. The duration of each theoretical lesson is 100 minutes
  • Defensive Theory Lesson 5 to 7 must be paid after you have obtained your PDL. These 3 defensive theory lessons must be completed before you finish your practical lessons.
  • Please refer to the theoretical lesson time-table for the classroom schedule before attending the theory class. No booking is required when attending the theory lesson in the classroom.
  • Be punctual and bring along your training record booklet for recording of attendance.
  • Lessons are conducted in English and Mandarin at SSDC Woodlands Circuit.
  • It is compulsory to attend the 7 theoretical lessons in our classroom.

Defensive Theory Lesson 7 - Risk Forecast Training

  • This interactive risk forecast training is a computer-based training system that repoduces actual traffic situations allowing the learners to anticipate and forecast different dangerous situations and to take precautions to prevent accident.
  • Lesson 7 is no longer a walk-in classroom lesson.The theoretical lesson time-table will not indicate the date and time of this lesson.
  • You are required to book for this lesson with your instructor when you are attending your lesson 6 in the classroom.

Theory Trial Test (TTT)

  • You are required to do a booking for your Computerised Theory Trial Test practice conducted in TTT Classroom at SSDC Woodlands Circuit @ level 4.
  • Theory Trial Test are our mock test to evaluate whether students are ready to sit for the actual Traffic Police Theory Test.
  • Each student can do a maximum of 4 bookings at any one time. For RTT, students are required to attend 2 x TTT (practise mode) before allow to do a theory trial test (50 questions) on the 3th attempt.
  • For BTT, Students are required to attend 2x TTT (Practice Mode) and passed before allowed to book a basic theory test.
  • Upon passing their Theory Trial Test (Riding Theory), students would then be allowed, within 30 days, to book for their Traffic Police Riding Theory Test.
  • Please produce your student's booklet or payment receipt to the instructor before entering the classroom.
  • Each trial test costs $5.35 per bookings.
  • No refund of fee if you did not make a cancellation or absent for your theory trial test due to personal reasons.
  • If you are unable to turn up for your trial test, you must cancel the booking at least 24 hours in advance.

Traffic Police Basic / Riding Theory Test

  • Theory Trial 2x TTT (Practice Mode) and 1x TTT (Test Mode) after passing , you can book for your BTT.(Exemption - if you already have a QDL Class 3. Please notify our counter staff during enrolment).
  • Please be punctual and report 15 minutes earlier before your Basic / Riding Theory Test time at Theory Test Classroom, SSDC Woodlands Circuit @ Level 1.
  • Must produce NRIC or Valid Passport when attending the theory test. Foreigners must produce valid passport, employment pass / work permit etc.
  • No refund for cancellation of Traffic Police theory test.
  • No multiple test bookings are allowed across any driving test centres.
  • The Riding Theory Test result is valid for one year from the date of passing the theory test.
  • Class 2B two tiered theory test requirements by Traffic Police for Riding Theory Test(RTT) date from 27/2/2012 and onwards , students must have a passed BTT or a Class 3 / 3A Qualifed Driving Licence records updated in our system.

Practical Lesson

  The duration of each practical lesson is 120 minutes and the advantages are:

    Fee per minute is cheaper for 120 minutes session compared to 100 minutes.
    120 minutes session to acquire required skills faster and efficiently.
    Fewer sessions to complete practical course.
    Less frequent travel to attend practical lesson.

  • Student must passed their Basic Theory test in order to apply for a Class 2B Provisional Driving Licence (updated in SSDC system) before they can proceed to book for any practical lesson.
  • Practical riding lessons can be booked at the counter, self service kiosks located at Level 3 or through the internet.
  • Training is conducted at SSDC Woodlands Circuit and the duration of each practical lesson is 120 minutes.
  • A minimum of 7 practical lessons is required.
  • Student may be required to attend more than the minimum number of practical lessons required for the circuit and on road training if the minimum standard has not been attained.
  • On the average, a student has to attend 15 sessions of practical lesson for the circuit training and 6 sessions of practical lesson for the on road training.
  • Student is required to bring along your student training record booklet for every practical lesson. A valid Provisional Driving Licence (PDL) must be produced for every on practical lesson otherwise no training will be conducted.
  • Student must complete the circuit and on road practical assessment, attended all 7 theoretical lessons, possess a valid Riding Theory test result slip and Provisional Driving Licence before they are allowed to book for the Traffic Police Practical Test.
  • Cancellation of practical riding lesson appointments can be made from the self service kiosks or through the internet. It must be made at least 72 hours in advance from the time of your practical lesson appointment. If your practical riding lesson falls after a Public Holiday or SSDC rest days, cancellation must be made at least 96 hours in advance.
  • When a cancellation is less than 72 hours, the student will use the try sell (for sale) list to put up the slot for try sell and to monitor the status of the try sell. If the try sell is successful, the practical lesson is cancelled and the amount credited back to the student accounts. If the try sell is unsuccessful, the student is required to attend the practical riding lesson, otherwise the booking will be invalid.
  • Medical certificate will not be accepted for refund or late cancellation of practical riding lesson.

Practical Test

  • Student is advised to attend circuit and on road revision practical lesson before their practical test.
  • Student is encouraged to attend the pre-test (Warm Up) practise before the practical test.
  • Student must produce NRIC or Passport, a valid Provisional Driving Licence, student training record booklet and practical test payment receipt when attending the practical test.
  • Please be punctual. Late comers will not be allowed to sit for their practical test.
  • It is compulsory to book for one on road revision practical lesson when applying for the practical re-test.
  • Student will be disqualified from the practical test is found to possessed more than one practical test date.
  • There will be NO REFUND (inclusive of vehicle rental) for cancellation of practical test date
  • For the safety of test candidates and other circuit / road users, all practical driving / riding tests will be discontinued in the event that the test candidate:

    i. Accumulates 20 or more demerit points or;
    ii. Commits an immediate failure checklist item (e.g. mounting of kerb)

Passing your Traffic Police practical test

Upon passing your practical test, all Singapore citizens, permanent residents, and foreigners holding valid work passes issued by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) or Student/Long-Term Visit passes issued by the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) can apply for a new QDL online via https://www.police.gov.sg/e-services or the Police@SG mobile application.

You need to attend and successfully completed the ‘Expressway Familiarise Ride’ training programme (if you applying for a Class 2B licence).

You need to submit your digital photograph taken at SSDC service counters. This digital photograph will be printed on your QDL. A service fee of S$6 is payable for the digital photograph-taking service.

The application fee for a new QDL is S$50. Payment can be made online by e-NETS/Visa/MasterCard/Debit card. Your new QDL will be mailed to you within 7 working days upon successful application.

Obtaining an additional Class of licence

If you are an existing QDL holder, you do not need to apply for a new QDL if you have passed a driving test for another class of driving licence.

You can obtain an endorsement for the additional class(es) of driving licence(s) on your existing photo-card driving licence. Your Driving Tester will affix an endorsement sticker at the back of your existing photo-card driving licence. Endorsement for additional classes of driving licences is free-of-charge.

You can get a new endorsement sticker at Traffic Police HQ if your endorsement sticker has been detached from your QDL or is defaced/torn. The new endorsement sticker, which will be affixed onto your existing QDL, is free-of-charge.

Replacement of Qualified Driving Licence

All Singapore citizens and permanent residents can apply to replace their QDL online if your QDL is lost or damaged. If you are not a Singapore citizen or permanent resident, you can only apply for a replacement QDL in person at Traffic Police Headquarters.

The fee for replacement of QDL is S$25. Payment can be made by e-NETS/Visa/MasterCard/Debit card. The payment receipt serves as your temporary driving licence. Your replacement QDL will be mailed to you within 7 working days upon successful application.

You do not need to submit a new photograph for online replacement of your QDL, Your existing photograph in Traffic Police’s database will be retrieved and printed on your replacement QDL.
